Abstract (Filipino)

Ang salitang Probinsyudad ay mula sa pinagsamang probinsya at siyudad na isa sa mga taguri ng Taguig simula pa noong 2011. Dito ay tuwiran nitong pinagsasama ang dalawang magkaibang uri ng espasyo upang sa ganoon ay mapanatili pa rin ang pinagmulan nito. Kaya naman sa pamamagitan ng konsepto ng espasyo ni Lefebvre na Spatial Triad at etnokultural na pagmamapa ni Flores, sinikap na maunawaan ang probinsyudad na espasyong mayroon sa Taguig. Sa tulong na lamang din ng mga ibinahaging impormasyon ng mga susing impormante na kinabibilangan ng mga piling pinuno ng Pamahalaang Lokal ng Taguig, mga taal na Taguigeño at hindi taal na Taguigeño at obserbasyon ng mananaliksik natuklasan na ang pagiging isang tunay na Probinsyudad na espasyo ay nagpapakita ng a. pagbabalanse ng moderno at tradisyonal, b. maluwalhating pagsasama ng lahat ng mga mamamayan sa lugar, c. may pantay na pagtingin sa bawat espasyo at patuloy na pangangalaga rito, at d. hindi ipinipilit ng lokal na pamahalaan. Sa mga katangiang nabanggit masasabi na hindi pa ganap at tunay na Probinsyudad ang siyudad ng Taguig at kinakailangan pa nitong mabigyan ng pansin ang pagkakaroon ng balanseng moderno at tradisyonal na gawain, maluwalhating pagsasama ng mga Taguigeño at hindi iniuugnay ang salita sa pinuno ng siyudad. Gayunman, nakita na mayroon ng mga programa upang mapangalagaan at magkaroon ng  pantay na pagtingin sa bawat espasyo sa Taguig. Sa pamamagitan ng mga nakuhang impormasyon ng mananaliksik nabuo ang Etnokultural na Espasyo ng Pagkakakilanlan ng lugar na makatutulong sa pagdalumat sa sitwasyon ng lugar.

Abstract (English)

The term Probinsyudad comes from the combination of probinsya (province) and siyudad (city), and has been one of the labels used to describe Taguig since 2011. It directly merges two different types of spaces in order to preserve its origins. Thus, through the Spatial Triad of Henri Lefebvre and the ethnocultural mapping of Flores, this study sought to understand the Probinsyudad as a space existing in Taguig. With the help of information shared by key informants—including selected officials of the Taguig Local Government, native Taguigeños, non-native Taguigeños, and the researcher’s own observations—it was found that a true Probinsyudad space is characterized by: a. a balance between the modern and the traditional, b. the harmonious inclusion of all residents in the community, c. an equal regard for every space and its continuous preservation, and d. a condition that is not imposed by the local government. Based on the characteristics mentioned, it can be said that the city of Taguig is not yet a fully realized and genuine Probinsyudad. It still needs to give greater attention to achieving a balance between modern and traditional practices, fostering the harmonious inclusion of Taguigeños, and ensuring that the term is not associated with the city’s leader. Nevertheless, it has been observed that there are already programs in place aimed at preserving and promoting equal regard for every space in Taguig. Through the data gathered, the researcher was able to develop the Ethnocultural Space of Identity of a place, which helps in understanding the cultural situation present in the area.
