Abstract (English)
Beyond The Wall is a novel set in a post-apocalyptic dystopian future where the Philippine archipelago was ravaged by war and political instability, further intensifying the divide between the wealthy and comfortable and the ones who are always on survival mode. When the school year comes to an end in Northville City, Marisa Golez, who was orphaned due to mysterious circumstances, seeks to find the truth about her parents’ disappearance nine years ago. Her best friend, Kalea Raon, has been with her since she was orphaned, and now has to deal with her friend wanting to go search for answers to the past.
Meanwhile, out in the settlements that surround the cities, a young musician living on the other side of the thick walls of Northville strives to find a mineral ore that could very well get him inside and reunite with his mom who left him behind for greener pastures as a kid. What happens when the lives of all three of them entangle to fight a greater foe? Alliances are formed and broken, and love and life are on the line.
