Abstract/Summary

Transformational Leadership is deemed as one of the most influential leadership styles in practice. It is a leadership style wherein the leader transforms his followers by motivating and inspiring them to embody a culture of change. This style of leadership is often associated with a plethora of workplace benefits such as innovation and enhanced performance, to name a few. In this study, the researchers sought to determine the links between Transformational Leadership, Innovative Work Behavior, and Work Performance; particularly how Innovative Work Behavior mediates the impact of Transformational Leadership on Work performance. The study was conducted on a sample of 97 rank-and-file employees from Mekeni Food Corporation, one of the prominent food processing companies in the Philippines. To analyze the findings of the study, the researchers made use of descriptive statistics and mediation analysis to determine the extent of each variable and the links between them. The findings of the study revealed that Transformational Leadership, Innovative Work Behavior, and Work Performance were all found to be evident in the organization. Moreover, the results of the mediation analysis revealed that Innovative Work Behavior fully mediates the impact of Transformational Leadership on Work Performance.
