Abstract (English)
The study focused on supporting the first strategic action of the Inclusive Innovation Industrial Strategy, which is improving the competitiveness of Philippine organizations by adopting Industry 4.0 (I4.0) technologies, by assessing various I4.0 readiness of organizations and the underlying factors behind the differing levels of readiness, specifically the drivers that promote a higher degree of readiness and the barriers that lower the degree of readiness to use I4.0 technology components of 200 SMEs in the National Captial Region of the Philippines.
By conducting mediated regression analysis on the data gathered, it was proved that the variables such as the perceived drivers and barriers of I4.0 readiness, and organization type has a significant impact on the degree of I4.0 readiness. Moreover, it was determined that the degree of I4.0 readiness mediates the relationship of perceived drivers of I4.0 readiness toward cost, effectiveness, and productivity, perceived barriers of I4.0 readiness toward effectiveness and productivity, and organization type towards effectiveness and productivity. The results may lead organizations to devise strategies to alleviate the identified barriers and leverage the identified drivers to boost their respective I4.0 readiness and eventually utilize technologies in their organizations.
