Abstract/Summary
Poverty has been one of the most challenging problems worldwide especially in the Philippines which is considered a third-world country. Numerous countries have considered entrepreneurship as the main combatant of poverty. Entrepreneurial activity has been one of the most active determinant of how a business’ activity contributes to alleviation of poverty. Entrepreneurial education in various studies is considered a good foundation on how entrepreneurs could utilize their knowledge and skills to combating poverty. The objectives of this study are to determine, define and analyze the relationship and effect of entrepreneurial activity and entrepreneurial education on poverty alleviation among MSME owners in Maginhawa Village, Quezon City.
The framework consists of the two independent variables, entrepreneurial activity and education and how it affects the dependent variable, poverty alleviation The study is mixed method research containing a quantitative and qualitative study which consists of insights from two experts. A survey was provided to 33 MSME owners in Maginhawa Village and the data was analyzed through the SMARTPLS application.
The study concludes that there is a positive relationship and significant effect of entrepreneurial activity and entrepreneurial education on poverty alleviation. However, future researchers must take into consideration of how the study can be conducted in other areas and the perception of poverty will vary from person to person. The study can also be conducted under a longer timeframe to further validate the data.
