Abstract (English)
Chootensils is a retail company that subcontracted with Relish Hello Happiness, was established as part of De La Salle University’s Decision Sciences and Innovation Department's practicum program, was founded by five visionary entrepreneurs: Jaime Miguel Almario, Timothy Troy Dayao, Blythe Lia Lam, Chae Geun Lee, and Josh Raymond Sy. Each founder brought unique skills and perspectives to the table, creating a strong foundation for the company's growth, under the guidance of their mentors Dr. Harvey T. Ong and Mr. Patrick R. Hariramani. Chootensils was started by five entrepreneurs with the same vision of helping the world and environment in small ways that have big effects, hence their vision of “Help heal the world one utensil at a time”.
The successful collaboration with "Relish Hello Happiness" played a crucial role in Chootensils' ability to start production. This subcontractor was instrumental in meeting the company's production needs, and their connection with one of the founders, Jaime Almario, facilitated smooth negotiations and production processes.
Chootensils encountered various achievements and challenges throughout its journey. The successful launch of the Edible Chootensils Sporks marked a significant milestone for the company. By offering a product that serves both practical and eco-friendly purposes, Chootensils demonstrated its commitment to a sustainable future. Their distinctive practices played a pivotal role in their success. The adoption of the first-in-first-out (FIFO) system, the elimination of delivery expenses, and the continuing CSR activities. Despite their achievements, Chootensils faced certain challenges, including looking for alternative subcontractors, implementing marketing strategies, and the task of expanding their market presence. However, these hurdles served as valuable learning experiences for the company, strengthening their resolve to pursue their vision.
Throughout its journey, Chootensils remained steadfast in its vision to "Help heal the world one utensil at a time." Their dedication to this vision, their innovative product, and their unique practices demonstrate that even a start-up can make a significant difference by focusing on sustainability, community engagement, and continuous improvement. In summary, Chootensils' journey is a shining example of a start-up that not only aims for financial success but also strives to leave a positive mark on the world. Their story serves as inspiration for other aspiring entrepreneurs to pursue innovative solutions, embrace sustainability, and foster a sense of social responsibility.
