Abstract/Summary

The study aimed to describe the personal characteristics, level of organizational commitment, workplace interaction, and performance in the workplace of selected deaf employees in Metro Manila. It also aimed to determine the association of their level of organizational commitment with their personal characteristics. In addition, it aimed to ascertain the level of their organizational commitment with their level of workplace interaction with their peers and superiors, and the level of their performance in the workplace. A descriptive-quantitative research design was used for the study. One hundred and twenty-six (126) deaf employees from Metro Manila were asked to participate in a survey through a self-administered structured questionnaire. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze data collected from the respondents. Analyses were done using SPSS. Results show that respondents have high level of organizational commitment, very high level of social interaction in the workplace, and very high level of work performance. Their social interactions with peers and colleagues in the workplace were found to have significant association with the organizational commitment of deaf employees. Their organizational commitment was also found to have a significant association with their performance in the workplace.
