Abstract/Summary
This study aims to describe the vegan lifestyle at work among vegan employees in Metro Manila and how this lifestyle is varied by their vegan-related experiences in the past. This also identifies the challenges of vegans at work as well as their responses to these challenges. A descriptive-qualitative design was launched and purposive sampling was used to get fifteen (15) vegans who are employed in organizations around Metro Manila for at least 6 months and have been vegan for at least 6 months, whose work areas are in the office or with colleagues in a regular basis. Findings revealed that all manifestations of vegan lifestyle are motivated by certain vegan-related experiences: specifically experiences on social support, exposure to social media, perceived benefits, and ethics and morals. Vegan employees tend to manifest veganism at work beyond their diet to encourage others to consider veganism for their own practice. It also revealed that the actions that the informants take in response to the challenges that they experience at work being vegan, is varied by their mindsets towards the challenges.
