Abstract/Summary

The purpose of this study is to identify the predominant problems and the growing needs in Dae Jun Campus at Soong Jun University, and propose a guidance program which will supplement and complement the existing situation both in the school curricula and extracurricular activities of the students.

To be able to grasp the predominant problem and growing needs of the students in Dae Jun Campus at Soong Jun University and in order to propose a relevant and realistic guidance programs, the descriptive-normative method of research is used in this study and the data collected are analyzed and explained in terms of the propose of the study. Two kinds of subjects are involved in the study. They are students and teachers in Dae Jun Campus at Soong Jun University in South Korea. In gathering the necessary data, two sets of questionnaire were prepared. The Modified Mooney Problem Checklist and the Teachers' Questionnaire.

The data collected from the questionnaires were tallied for conversion into percentage and tabulated and organized into several tables for the analysis and interpretation. The frequencies and percentages were also ranked to determine the most common responses. Means were used to treat some data.

Based on the findings, it was concluded that the present service offered by Dae Jun Campus of the SJU does not adequately meet the students' emerging needs and problems. There is a genuine need to have an organized guidance counseling program run by qualified guidance personnel for fulfillment of higher educational goals.
