Abstract/Summary

This study assessed the actual state of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas as a learning organization and identified interventions to address the areas of opportunities. It employed descriptive statistics for its research design. A survey questionnaire and interview were used to determine the dimensions of the learning organization that the Bank already has and the areas in these dimensions that needed to be enhanced. A stratified sampling technique was employed using the stratum of job levels in the Bank. There were 500 survey participants and 50 interviewees. Results showed that the seven dimensions on a Learning Organization using Watkins and Marsick Model are present and moderately manifested. Proposed interventions are enhancement of the Performance Management System, institutionalization of Knowledge Management, conduct of bank-wide Organization Review, pursuit of Inspiring Leadership Program and Competency-Based Curriculum Development, and continuing efforts on team enhancement, learning and development programs.
