Abstract/Summary

This action research aims to address the current issue in a business considered a Small and Medium Enterprise (SME), namely Jeh’sSio Food Corporation, regarding improving its selection process when conducting interviews. Working together with my collaborators in meetings and interviews following the four steps of action research namely constructing, planning action, taking action, and evaluating action we were able to validate that there was indeed a gap in the process of interviewing applicants. To resolve the gap, we agreed that our output for Cycle 1 would be the creation of a job description which aims to provide us a basis in selecting applicants. To reinforce Cycle 1, we agreed that training should be done for Cycle 2, to support the created job description and orient interviewers of its use. Through the two cycles of the action research and with the help of my collaborators, creation, and implementation of the job descriptions were done. We were able to use four frameworks for this action research namely: Kurt Lewin Change Management Model, Schein’s Job/role analysis and planning process, Analysis, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate (ADDIE) model, and the Role Theory.
