Abstract/Summary
Due to increasing global population and economic growth, demand for resources and material will be increased. Water is a vital resource for many industries such as food production, electricity production, textile, etc, In the near future many countries will experience water stress aggravated by global warming. Water recycling is essential for conservation and environmental impact minimization. Using eco-industrial park (EIP) as a framework could provides more opportunities to exchange water among plants. By optimizing an ecological index model such as emergy, more comprehensive evaluation could be achieved. Emergy is a thermodynamic measure of total impact on the environment. In this study, an optimization model has been developed for designing water reuse network in EIP’s based on emergy.
