Abstract/Summary

It is not the aim of this paper to offer a panacea for all the ills of the teenage world nor give a guarantee that sound Christian ideals will be developed in the adolescents after these lessons have been taught to them. Rather, it will merely give suggestions and offer a beginning step to help alleviate the growing concern of parents and teachers over their children's apparent disregard for some of the really worthwhile values in life. The following lessons are proposed to be carried out in the Sophomore year in High School. It will be noted too, that the lessons are limited to the virtues of love and purity. Since character formation is such a delicate duty involving various phases of human development, it was deemed fit to limit the treatment to Love and Purity in this study. These lessons are aimed to help students in the appreciation of Christian love and purity, realizing that ideals and attitudes are influenced by instruction, suggestions, experience, religion and intellectual development.

Since these lessons have not been actually taught, but were made with the Sophomores in High School in mind, the actual classroom teaching may require adjustment for there are various social, psychological and maturity levels in the group even within the sophomore group itself.
