Abstract/Summary
This study examines whether the current usage of trust receipts in trade and finance in consistent with the original legislative intent of the TRL. In the process, this study critically assesses pertinent judicial decisions on the matter and examines how they affect the actual implementation of the TRL. Revisions to the TRL are proposed to make it more responsive and relevant to the needs of traders and other businessmen in the country.
