Abstract/Summary

This research involves discovering how the employees of Financial Department performed in Beidahuang (BDH) Company. The purpose of this research is to change the compensation system to cater the needs of employees. Meanwhile, it is a good opportunity for the researcher to apply the theoretical learning from MBA program into practice. The significance of doing this research is not only for my personal interest but also to help the company I am currently working for more specifically the Financial Department I belong to.

This program was designed to address low working efficiency and motivation issue among Financial Department employees. In doing so, the researcher and co-researchers applied some frameworks to lead the change: Maslows Hierarchy of Needs, Kotters 8-step Change Model, Scheins ORJI model etc. In order to identify the causes of the focal issue, we used Fishbone diagram. Moreover, the ladder of inference was applied to determine the actions that they were going to take to solve the focal issue in terms of the causes.

At the end of this research, the objective of the project was attained, the purpose and significance was served, and the focal issue was solved mostly. The climate in the Financial Department was changed from negative to active, lifeless to spirited, from lazy to diligent and this change will be going on. The conflicts were reduced and the relationship between employees got well. People were satisfied and motivated to learn new knowledge and skills, communicate effectively and efficiently, work hard and actively. The said changes have affected the Finance Department as well as the whole company.
