Abstract/Summary

As the industry evolves into technology driven businesses, an increasing number of companies are reaching a critical pain threshold in needing to control and manage their vast amounts of digital media assets. Technically speaking, a digital asset is any for of media that has been turned into a binary source. Digital assets include everything from artwork, logos and photos to PowerPoint presentations, text documents and even e-mail, are proving to be valuable assets in terms of both productivity and company valuation. The modern business creates media content in many guises. Traditionally each department would manage its own media content, usually with some formalized filing structure.

Digital asset management is, like most technologies today, relatively new. Digital Asset Management serves as the single access point for all difital media files and their underlying information. DAM enables you to easily find, access, share, reuse, distribute, and archive all types of digital content. By centralizing storage and providing easy, efficient, enterprise access to these digital assets, and allowing them to be quickly re-purposed which streamlines processes (workflow). DAM's built-in workflow capabilities save time by simplifying the management, tracking, and contributions to projects across the organization.

Media asset in P.T Duta Visual Nusantara Tivi Tujuh has growth with it in great confusion manner. Each department, possibly each user, may have private filing system. Scattered media contents are difficult to maintain and reused (re-purpose) and much material exists in analog form, converting it to a digital format is both labor- and skill- intensive. The subject of this study aims to meet the company's two needs by designing, creating and deploying a digital asset management tailored for a media asset organization and its common operations.
