Abstract/Summary

My project on enhancing the Financial Analysis Review (FAR) tool was a reality for my company and me. After the completion of my study, the objective of reducing the number of queries coming from the Global office was realized. My action research was focused on the idea of change amidst inertia through the FAR tool. It used theories and frameworks culled from scholarly journals. In my opinion as an action researcher, the project had its impact toward the organization as a whole. The impact made was in line with the improvement of quality of work as it introduced change amidst inertia. Change was undertaken to assist the teams deteriorating performance as reflected in the changes in performance rating and Key Performance Indicators (KPI). My action research has helped the companys decision of moving forward as a high performance organization (HPO). Though the process of my action research has faced challenges due to the resistance that happened during implementation, eventually the implementation was considered a success. Also, I learned how to work more effectively in a collaborative environment. I learned to value both appreciation and resistance in a constructive way. But most important of all, this action research has made me more confident in knowing of my strengths, and the same time made me more humble in accepting my weaknesses. Another learning I had was about my companys attitude on change. I learned that LGS-M is willing to change but the sustainability of holding on to change was a challenge.
