Abstract/Summary

This study was undertaken to survey the teaching effectiveness in some CICM schools, as perceived by CICM supervisors for the school year 1980-1981. The following questions were specifically raised by the problem: 1) What is the evaluation of each and all eight areas (the classroom, teacher, objectives, content, teaching procedure, medium of instruction, instrumental tools and students) of the supervisory report? 2) What are the strength and weaknesses in each and all eight sub-areas of the supervisory report? 3) What are the implications of the study to the CICM educational service? The documents, used to furnish pertinent data, are the supervisory reports and the enrollment data for the school year 1980-1981. Five descriptive values with the corresponding numerical values were used to evaluate the reports. Then, the average rate for the item, the average of each of the eight areas and overall average were taken. Based on the data gathered, the findings of the study show that: 1) The overall average of the teachers is 3.23 or good. That means all areas are open for improvement. 2) Of the eight areas, students have the lowest average. This needs more attention in the future. 3) In each of the seven areas in the summary, there are particular items that had been rated with an average in the line of 2 items with high entries under fair, poor, or zero. All in all, there are nineteen items out of forty four that have less need to be in the supervisory report.
