Abstract/Summary
This study draws up a Student Handbook that defines the school policies and operational procedures and serves as a vital instrument of communication for a united and effective action. Sources of data were interviews with school administrators, faculty and some students. Written sources included the pertinent records and other school documents. Additional information were also gathered from relevant literature. The proposed student handbook of San Nicolas College High School includes the history of the school, its philosophy and objectives, the organizational set-up, the policies and procedures affecting student administration, and provisions for amendment and improvement. The formulation of this Handbook was important since it was a greatly felt need and strongly motivated by the desire of the administration, faculty and staff. It was deemed a worthwhile undertaking in so far as it met the needs for which it had been undertaken. -- 3rd work. This is a case of the parents of Arlyne Romero, Judge and Mrs. Rosauro Romero, writing a position letter addressed to the school principal to disqualify Lourdes Razon as valedictorian of class 1972-1973. The bases of the letter-complaint were charges of dishonesty, misrepresentation, deception or fraud, disgraceful and grave misconduct. Mrs. Razon, the mother of the accused, formally answered the accusations made against her daughter. All sides provided documents and other pertinent data which would help clarify the matter. Judge Romero, after hearing the response of Mrs. Razon to his memorandum and the decision of the Investigating Committee over the case, expressed his dissatisfaction and his intention to forward the case to the Bureau of Private Schools. The school administrators are still faced with the problem. Alternatives open to the administrators are: 1. They would prepare their written response and evidences and wait for the memorandum from the Bureau of Private Schools. 2. They would talk with Judge Romero and request him to drop the case. 3. They would request the legal counsel of the school to settle the matter with Judge Romero.
