Abstract/Summary

This study puts down into writing the philosophy, aims, and the many different policies, rules and regulations of the Our Lady of the Snows Institute (OLSI) for the information of all students and parents and to achieve their willingness and full-cooperation to abide with them upon their enrollment in the school. This paper deals with the descriptive analysis of the Our Lady of the Snows Institute's philosophy of education, policies and implementing rules and regulations. Information and some data incorporated in the handbook were carefully gathered and studied. Sources of information were the interviews conducted by the writer with the officers of the different class organizations of OLSI, with faculty members, with school principals of some schools and colleges in Manila and in the province of Capiz. Additional information was based on the writer's personal ideas and observations, other high school handbooks, brochures, books, Department Circulars, and other valuable reference materials. The writer will conduct the experimental implementation of the handbook in school year 1977-1978. Feedbacks will be properly noted and suggestions for modifications of its contents will be properly evaluated before its final incorporation in the handbook. The writer sees the importance that the handbook undergoes a major revision every three years to make it suitable and meaningful to the needs of time.
