Abstract/Summary
The hospitality industry is increasingly becoming a difficult market to service. The growing sophistication and demands of the travelers today have changed dramatically. The availability of new technology has changed the way we do business and in effect, our way of life.
MagiNet Corporation is one company which, for nine years has addressed the demands of the hoteliers and their guests by providing on-demand video services to their hotel rooms. It continues to strive to increasingly understand the environment in which it operates to better service its growing roster of clients. MagiNet operates throughout Asia Pacific, including the Philippines through its subsidiary, MagiNet Philippines.
This paper takes a look at pay TV or in-room entertainment industry today, with focus on the Philippine setting. This paper aims to appraise potential opportunities and threats and evaluate how MagiNet Philippines should position themselves to be able to compete effectively and develop strategies to increase revenues and expand its market base.
