Abstract/Summary

The De La Salle Professional Schools Inc. Graduate School of Business (DLS-PSI-GSB) is currently facing the emerging global education paradigm, the emergence of IT as a source of competitive advantage, and increased competition. Already, new, innovative ways of providing education are surfacing.

One of the proposed corporate objectives is to be able to provide business education that can be compared and recognized internationally. The proposed strategies for this objective would focus on maintaining and improving the academic reputation of the school maximizing flexible distribution of graduate management education continuously improving the curriculum involving more alumni in the activities of the school continuing enhancements on the School's facilities and services developing a qualified and competent pool of faculty and staff encouraging faculty to produce more research works continuous employee training improving delivery of education continuous upgrading of equipment and providing supplementary IT services.

In line with DLS-PSI-GSBs Vision-Mission of uplifting the state of society, another proposed corporate objective is to be able to produce socially responsible graduates who live by Lasallian values while contributing to the continuous development of those around them. Strategies to this end include exposing faculty members to Lasallian values and to various community projects so as to be able to effectively integrate these learnings in the courses they teach.

An analysis of the budget performance of DLS-PSI-GSB for the current school year (SY 2004-2005) and for the next three school years (SY 2005-2006 to SY 2007-2008) revealed that tuition fees alone won't be able to sustain the operations of the School.

The final corporate objective is to be able to increase the receipts of the School in order to sustain operations and have the necessary resources to meet the objectives.

Alternative revenue schemes would come from the trainings and seminars given by the Professional Development Center (PDC), and from alumni donations and company grants.
