Abstract/Summary
MedSource Incorporated is a medical transcription education organization (MTEO) or an MT school. It developed is own courseware that was used in a medical college in Metro Manila as part of its course offerings in its medical degree programs. It also developed a training program that can be offered as a stand-alone course outside of an existing college or university. This course is what is offered in its training center in the University Belt. It is classified under the healthcare industry since it provides the information services requirements of hospitals and clinics, doctors and other health professionals by training medical transcriptionists. It employs the traditional instructor-led type of training supplemented by online exercises and downloadable materials.
The corporation has been operating without any vision or objectives, written or otherwise, save for the usual business objectives of profitable operations and continuous operations. This paper proposes MedSources vision to be:
MedSource Incorporated, a leading proponent in the healthcare industry, envisions itself as an active partner of leading institutions of learning and as the leading training institution for health information management (HIM) classroom-based and online -- in the training of globally competitive Filipino health information management practitioners and as a frontrunner in providing HIM services in the country and throughout the world.
The corporate objectives of MedSource have been set to guide the stakeholders towards achieving its vision. The strategic objectives of the corporation are:
1. To create a learning environment for at least 200 students at any given time with enough space for ancillary services like a library and a cafeteria that would allow for more student interaction starting in 2008.
2. To improve customer service through a series of seminar workshops on product knowledge and customer relations starting on the last quarter on 2007 with regular updates or full sessions thereafter.
