Abstract/Summary
This paper is written for the Value point Group of Companies, a small retail chain with stores in the National Capital Region, Central Luzon and Southern Luzon provinces. This paper outlines the corporate strategies designed to serve as the company's turn-around strategy. The chain has in recent years suffered from dismal financial results.
This papers definition of the retail industry includes all players selling goods and services to consumers for their personal, family, or household use. This paper will then discuss the various macroenvironmental forces arrayed against the industry and how these forces affect the competitive forces in the industry. Afterwards, it will discuss how the company can take advantage of the favorable effect of these forces and mitigate the effect of forces adversely affecting the industry. In the latter sections of this paper it will describe the recommended strategies for the company in as much detail as possible and details the likely outcome from these strategies from inception to its implementation. The last part is the financial projections based on likely effects of these strategies as it is implemented.
The paper will also discuss the following frameworks as they are introduced in this paper:
The Macroenvironmental and task environment forces affecting the industry
Michael Porters Five-Forces Model as it is affected by the macroenvironment and the task environment
Strategic Group Map
Porters Value Chain
