Abstract/Summary
CCPI is a family owned and controlled corporation. It is a manufacturer of bakery ingredients, and belongs to the bakery ingredients industry. At this point in time, it is currently facing serious problems inside and out. Inside the organization, the company is experiencing decreasing sales, diminishing net income, uncoordinated as well as conflicting activities by various functional areas, and transition problems. Using the Developmental Model of Family Businesses, the company is currently in the Expansion / Formalization stage in the Business Development Dimension, in the Sibling Partnership stage in the Ownership Development Dimension, and in the Passing the Baton Stage in the Family Development Dimension. Each stage poses different sets of challenges which the company has to overcome in order achieve progress.
