Abstract/Summary

The paper primarily scans the current business environment of the pharmaceutical industry in China and anticipates the future changes within the macro environment, which will bring either opportunities or threats to the industry. The Paper then examines the internal strengths and weaknesses of Shandong Pharmaceutical Company.

Based on the proposed Vision Statement of the company, the Paper proposes the following corporate objectives:

1. To increase ROI from -4.14% in 2004 to 2%, 5% and 8% in years 2005, 2006 and 2007, respectively.

2. To achieve RMB 40 million for net profit by the end of 2006 and maintain 60% annual increase.

3. For year 2005, to reach sales of RMB1.74 billion, a 15% increase from RMB1.5 billion in year 2004, and maintain the same increase percentage in 2006 and 2007.
