Abstract/Summary

The essence of this paper is to come up with a strategic management plan for Kenrich International Distributors, Inc. (KIDC). What is important to take note in this paper is the use of frameworks in coming up with a basis for the whole strategic management process. As we know, there are numerous ways and means to come up with a particular strategy, although some seems obvious, the use of frameworks as a basis for a proposal or action plan is important to make sure that whatever it is, there is a sound theoretical basis behind it. Even gut feel has a basis, which is through the acquired experience of a particular strategy maker.

We will now briefly go through each step that has been undergone in this paper.

The first thing that should be done is to come up with a strategic vision for the company. In this paper, the current vision of the company is enhanced to make sure there is a clear path on what the company wants to become in the next 10, 15 or 30 years. After coming up with the strategic vision, the corporate objectives (financial and strategic) are created to make sure the action plans of the company for the next five years will contribute to the long-term vision of the company. The objectives should be SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Results-Oriented and Time-Bound).
