Abstract/Summary

This study determined the effectiveness of the Enneagram in enhancing the SVD college seminarians’ self-esteem and personal growth initiative. A modified interrupted time-series design with nonequivalent dependent variables was used with two groups of participants, seminarians (N = 20) and formators (N = 8). Data analysis employed descriptive and inferential statistics such as one-way repeated measures analysis of variance, post hoc test LSD and data determination coefficient chart. For self-esteem and PGI, F is significant, F = (4, 19) = 10.42, p <.05 and F (4, 19) = 5.98, p < .05, respectively. There is a statistically significant difference in selfesteem and personal growth initiative scores before and after exposure to the Enneagram. Five multiple comparisons yielded five significant results for PGI while for self-esteem six. The intervention program, using the Enneagram principle, enhanced self-esteem and personal growth initiative immediately after treatment. The effects of the Enneagram on the two variables are relatively stable over time.
