Abstract/Summary
This project paper was undertaken to find out student's understanding of uniform circular motion using the self-learning activity. The study used both qualitative and quantitative approached. The study made use of 40 fourth year high school student of Taytay National High School in Taytay, Rizal. This research started with the giving of pretest to the students and culminated with the answering of the posttest just after the intervention was given. The result of the pretest and posttest showed that there is a 31% gain in understanding of the students on the topic using the self-learning activity. The computed means, standard deviations and t-value also showed that there significant difference between pretest and posttest scores of the students. The experts responded that the self-learning activity possessed highly favorable characteristics to cater students understanding. Study also showed that students understand best the definition of uniform circular motion than its characteristics and word problems respectively. The student's activity revealed best performance in answering the application over the performance in the guide questions and generalizations respectively.
