Abstract/Summary
This research is intended to assemble a design software, in a readily usable and practical form, on terrestrial microwave paths for communications systems in the Philippines. The design tool contains the ability to quickly and easily design and build microwave links to specific technical requirements using the latest industry standards. The development of the design software will give emphasis on techniques and practices, but a considerable amount of theoretical analysis will be used in evaluating the various phenomena which are important in microwave transmission.
The software will have its major value as a design tool for communications engineers to speed-up the time consuming process of terrestrial microwave communications system design. The design approach is general so that it can be applied to any microwave equipment designed for operation in a specified band, provided due account is taken on differences in RF components, transmission lines, antennas, and propagation characteristics.
