Abstract/Summary
A new cassane type furanoid diterpene, isovouacapenol E (CB-41) and a known sesquiterpene, caryophyllene oxide (CB-47) were isolated from the leaves of Caesalpinia pulcherrima. Both compounds were obtained from the dichloromethane extract of the air-dried leaves of the plant. The structure of CB-41 was elucidated by extensive 1D and 2D NMR analyses.
