Abstract/Summary

Occupational health and safety program is the overall plan of a company to promote safety and health in a work place, through the concerted effort of all concerned. This is a form of insurance that helps protect the company's investment in its employees. It is the intent of the program to assure so far as possible every working man in safe and healthful working conditions. Thus, all the activities carried on under it have the purpose of reducing the hazard factor and improving employee behavior towards safety and health.The project is an Occupational Health and Safety Program for the U.S. Metal Industry Company, Inc., a fabrication firm. A structured questionnaire was used to generate the needed data or information. Interview, observation, and documentary analysis were used as auxiliary methods to the survey method. All the managers, supervisors, and rank and file employees in the administrative and operations department of the campany participated in the survey. Descriptive statistics were used for data analysis.The study concluded that occupational health and safety program reduces hazard factor, improves employees' behavior towards safety and health and increases the company's productivity and profitability.
