Abstract/Summary

This study presents the analytical techniques used in formulating a strategic plan for PREMIERE DEVELOPMENT BANK (Premiere Bank). The bank belongs to the financial services industry where it faces stiff competition against similar financial institutions among different strategic groups within the industry. The presence of competition among the industry players necessities the formulation and implementation of a strategic plan which is primarily based on the environmental and company analysis in terms of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats(SWOT) including the social expectations of the company and the personal values of the banks key decision-makes.

Premiere Bank envisions itself to be a premiere catalyst in providing the best value to its clientele at the same time providing the best return to shareholders, the best employment conditions and continuing support to the governments nation building objectives while adhering to the highest ideals of service, hardwork and professional excellence. In line with this vision is its mission statement that reads to be a premiere provider of retail banking products and services through the effective use of technology and innovation while continuing to maintain a high level of credit and operational discipline.
