Abstract/Summary

RACE Technologies, Inc. is in need of a competitive strategy to sustain growth. At present, the Company has not maximized its profitability. This scenario can be attributed to insufficient strategic planning and control. To help management, it is essential to analyze the present strategies of the Company to come up with proposed solutions that can alleviate the Companys problems.

In coping with fragmentation, RACE Technologies is presented with a number of possible strategic alternatives. These alternative are specific approaches in pursuing differentiation, focus, and cost leadership generic strategies. In the fabrication of airconditioning equipment, there is only a few differentiation strategies as these systems have similar functionalities. Focus strategies on the other hand, have already been put in place by RACE Technologies, Inc. Thus, competitive positioning may be achieved through cost leadership strategies.

To achieve further growth, the Company should come up with a written mission statement that would guide the Corporation in its aim for a better market position. It is suggested that RACE Technologies, Inc. join efforts with an international company engaged in the latest technology of airconditioning systems.
