Abstract/Summary
Techtron Industrial Corporation is a manufacturing firm that produces plastic products on a contracting basis. The company is currently engaged in supplying electric fans plastic parts such as fan blade and stand to the appliance industry (Standard, Union), plastic car parts such as lighting housing, mudguard to the car industry (Toyota), plastic motorcycle parts such as hand grip, signal, ignition switch and gear to the motorcycle industry (Honda) and firearm plastic parts such as pistol grip, frame and trigger to the firearms industry (ARMSCOR, Squire Bingham).
The key problem Techron is facing today is how to sustain its competitiveness from other industrial plastic manufacturers. With the advent of ASEAN Free Trade Agreement (AFTA), competition can be felt from the Asian countries.
The paper will indicate the effective strategy for the next five years. Competition will be based on quality, cost, delivery and technology. The strategy will focus on its competitiveness, operation improvement and scanning foe new markets. A framework is presented in formulating its corporate strategy.
