Abstract/Summary
Mel Joseph Enterprises is a company in the Footwear Industry. It has been in existence for more than twenty years now and has grown to become a multi-million business from humble beginnings inspired with the five hundred peso savings of Mr. Ricardo Joseph, President and owner of the company.
The study starts off with the definition of the industry in which Mel Joseph Enterprises is currently engaged in. The identification of the opportunities and threats were then made. Among the more interesting opportunities identified were the government incentives for exporters in the industry and the steady annual increase of thirteen percent (13%) in the export of footwear apparel. The strengths, weaknesses and competitive advantages of the company were then derived to serve as the framework for the formulation of corporate strategies. Among the most important strengths of Mel Joseph Enterprises were its Financial Stability and the efficiency of its delivery systems. On the other hand its key competitive advantage is MJE a better efficiency of delivery systems against its competitors. In the absence of corporate objectives, missions and visions, it was necessary to create new ones.
