Abstract/Summary
This paper was prepared for the sole purpose of coming up with strategies that would make Puentespina Orchids and Tropical Plants Inc. as one of the top producers/exporters of Filipino cutflower after thorough analyzing improvement opportunities and estimating both quantity and qualitative benefits.
There are several alternatives that were considered and evaluated. On the basis of evaluation, it is recommended that the following be undertaken: (1) Acquire additional farm land in Calinan, Davao City (2) enter into joint business agreement with small cutflower growers (3) act as big brother to small and medium cutflower grower members of the Davao Apo Cutflower Growers Association.
To support the above strategies, the Puentespina and Tropical Plants should come up with functional strategies, this will include (1) strengthening marketing and distribution capabilities (2) purchase of additional shares of stocks and acquisition of loan from the bank.
The Puentespina Orchid and Tropical Plants Inc. would be able to overcome the fragmented structure of the industry and gain significant market share. Projected income statement showed that the company would be able to generate an average increase in sales of 23%.
