Abstract/Summary
Measuring or testing activity is useful only if the results of measurements are reliable, sufficiently accurate and with a known degree of uncertainty. The measuring and test equipment must have the desired level of accuracy and consistency when operated under condition of actual usage, and that it is usable only when it is functioning to the specified accuracy level and when it has been properly calibrated. Knowing the significance of calibration, Petron Laboratory of Pandacan Terminal aims to be ISO/IEC Guide 25 certified, to ensure that all equipment are properly calibrated and well maintained to generate better quality product. To fulfill the requirements for ISO/IEC G 25, the author developed the calibration and maintenance system of the Technical Section and Instrumentation Section of Petron Laboratory. The developed system consisted of calibration procedural details, for both in-house and bulk-plant equipment, equipment calibration working instructions, equipment operating procedure, equipment maintenance procedure, and standard formats of associated documents. The author also calibrates the hydrometer and thermometer of Petron bulk-plant for ISO 9000 accreditation.
