Abstract/Summary
A comparative study of Brachyuran fauna from two sites in Manila Bay was conducted from November, 1994 to April, 1995. Seventeen (17) species belonging to four (4) families and twelve (12) genera of brachyurous crustacean were collected from Sitio Pulo in Barangay Tanza, Navotas and Barangay Baseco, Tondo. Three species were new records for Manila Bay, namely: Heteropanope sp., Sesarma sp., and Ozius sp. Notes on the ecology of the collected specimen were also cited such as the habit, habitat and distribution as possibly affected by the type of substrate and certain climatological factors.
