Abstract/Summary
This study draws the institutional profile of the Ifugao Academy which was obtained as a result of the self-survey process. The narrative descriptive method utilizing the self-survey procedure of the Association of Christian Schools and Colleges (ACSC) in accrediting schools was used. This method was used to draw the profile of the Ifugao Academy in terms of its objective, organization and programs. The primary instrument for data-gathering was the ACSC self-survey forms. There were five sets of survey forms but only the first three were used in this study. The survey form for Purposes and Objectives of the school was accomplished by the teachers, students and alumni. For the survey forms on Organization, the respondents were teachers and students. The respondents for the section on Programs were the teachers who answered all the items and the students who accomplished only the item on classroom and laboratory procedure, professional performance of faculty, co-curricular activities, educational guidance, school and community.
The results revealed the following: (1) The teachers and the students have a positive attitude towards the common objectives of the Association of Christian Schools and Colleges. (2) The teachers and the students were able to formulate institutional objectives for the Ifugao Academy which were classified as follows: Spiritual, Intellectual, Moral, Physical, Cultural, Social, Civic and Vocational Growth. (3) That through this study, the researcher was able to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the school in the areas of Organization and Programs. The researcher recommended the following: (1) The Ifugao Academy should complete the self-survey especially in the two areas which were not yet surveyed namely: Resources and Outcomes. (2) The institutional objectives which were formulated for Ifugao Academy as an output of the self survey should be formally adapted by the institution and incorporated in all its official documents. (3) An Ad-hoc committee should be organized to review the identified strengths and weaknesses of the school and to recommend specific measures to maintain the strengths and alleviate the weaknesses.
