Abstract/Summary

The cardinal purpose of this study is to survey the night students' problems of Chang-Jung Girls' High School in Taiwan. The subjects of this study were 329 night students who came from nine classes (3 in each year level). The Mooney Problem Check List was employed for determining the night students' problems. Regarding treatment of the data, frequency, percentage, rank and two-way analysis of variance were used to examine the predominant problems and differences. The findings of this study were:1) The top problem areas which were most troublesome to night students were: personal-psychological relations social and recreational activities adjustment to school work finances, living conditions, and employment and social-psychological relations.2) There were no evident significant differences in the students' problems of 3 year levels, and single-parent family and two-parent family.3) The students who came from single-parent families experienced more familiar difficulties than those who came from two-parent families.4) The night students were resistant in discussing their personal problems with faculty members.5) The night students were generally poor in living quality. Finally, the implications to guidance were discussed to meet students' needs and problems.
