Abstract/Summary
Azadirachta indica, A. Juss (Common name: Neem tree) which belongs to the family Meliaceae, is studied for its terpenoid chemistry. One novel tetranortriterpenoid lactone - Isolate N-6 was isolated from Azadirachta indica, A Juss by Vacuum Liquid Chromatography (VLC) and Gravity Column Chromatography (GCC). The structure of Isolate N-6 was elucidated by High Field Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) analyses such as 1H, 19C, Distortionless Enhancement by Popularization Transfer (DEPT), 1H-1H Correlation Spectroscopy (COSY) and Mass Spectroscopy (MS).Andrographis paniculata, Nees (Common name: Serpentina) which belongs to the family Acanthaceae, was studied for its terpenoid chemistry. One novel diterpene lactone - alcohol derivative of Isolate Z-7 and one known diterpene - diacetylandrographolide, were isolated from Andrographis paniculata, Nees by Vacuum Liquid Chromatography (VLC) and Gravity Column Chromatography (GCC). Their structures were elucidated by High Field Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) analyses such as 1H, 1BC, 1H- 1H Correlation Spectroscopy (COSY) and Mass Spectroscopy (MS).
