Abstract/Summary
The study aims to identify the Concept of Authority of St. Vincent and its implications for the Daughters of Charity. The study sought to know the mind of St. Vincent on the following: a) Being in Authority b) Means of Governing Well c) Relationship with Sister Companions The general procedure employed in the study is the pastoral theological expounding of St. Vincent de Paul concept of Authority. It will use the writings of St. Vincent de Paul with commentaries from recent directives. The study is intended to create a synthesis and a manual for Sister Servants regarding authority. The leadership of the Sister Servant is most important for renewal in the community. If the Sister Servant understands what St. Vincent is talking about in his conferences, then she knows what is needed for renewal, what will restore and preserve the best tradition of the community. If she knows what the Community is saying to her today, especially in the General Assembly, then she has the means of adapting her House to the times and conditions of real life today.
