Abstract/Summary
This paper would provide a thematic analysis of Bienvenido Lumbera's Revolution (1984), a collection of essays on Philippine criticism, through a survey of the different developments in the field of Philippine literature particularly in the field of Philippine literary history. To substantiate the analysis,a thorough discussion of the critic's intervention in Philippine criticism would be included.This paper aims to draw firsthand insights from Lumbera himself and this was undertaken by a interview with the critic, and which transcription is also provided in this study. This paper also aims to show the different facets in the personality of one of the country's leading literary historians.
