Abstract/Summary

Most of the problems encountered in the Chemical Engineering subject. Momentum Transfer, require long solutions which are either analytical or graphical in nature and demand the use of several references for data gathering. In short, it involves an extremely tedious and time consuming task. Thus this project study allows the advent of modern computer to influence the Chemical Engineering student by greatly extending his capacity for solving problems. Not only can analytical solutions be worked out with facility, but equations for which simple analytical solutions cannot be found may be solved by numerical methods. BASIC computer programs on selected topics in Fluid Statics, Fluid Dynamics, Branching Systems, Unsteady State Fluid Flow, Filtration and Sedimentation are presented in this project study for future undergraduate students in Momentum Transfer to have better appreciation of the subject.
