Abstract/Summary
This study is an analysis of six technology manuals coming from the three leading technology institutions of the Philippines here identified as School 1, School 2 and 3. It aims to identify the different features of the texts of the above mentioned manuals, specifically their macro-structure and micro-structure. It seeks to determine how the organization pattern of the manuals is realized. It further identifies the specific rhetorical techniques, modes of organization, and presentation of information used to come up with a pattern or schema. For the macro-structure analysis, the Trimbles rhetorical process approach was used for the micro-structure, the Trimbles' rhetorical-grammatical relationship model was utilized. It was found from the macro-structure analysis that all six technical manuals showed the four levels of EST rhetoric.
