Abstract/Summary
In this study, examined the relationship between entrepreneurship and poverty in the Philippines. Measured the effect of some demographic, economic and social factors on state of poverty and estimated a causal model to examine mobility into and out of poverty in the Philippines using repeated cross sections analysis. Among the factors, I unequivocally put entrepreneurship in the center of my study. I have found that entrepreneurship decreases the likelihood of a household of becoming poor. I have also found that entrepreneurship has positive marginal effects on upward poverty mobility. Hence, policy implications are generated to promote entrepreneurship.
