Abstract/Summary

Umalohokan Radio is a show that aims to make the youth aware of their roles in society. Umalohokan refers to the town criers of ancient Philippine barangays. And as the name implies, the show will be a town crier to the youth. Since media is a powerful tool of influence, it has the responsibility to act as catalysts for change, most especially with today's youth. The entertainment-education strategy incorporates educational messages into entertainment formats with a goal to change human behavior. This strategy is proven effective in radio, which is said to be the best medium for carrying messages across.
