Abstract/Summary
The study is an investigation of contractor's quality assurance programs of high-rise buildings in Metro Manila. Fourteen quality assurance programs were determined by surveying and interviewing various contractors involved in high-rise building constructions in Metro Manila. These were reviewed by comparing them to international and industry standards and by counterchecking their actual performance with construction managers and owners. Different Project sites were visited to observe ongoing construction of high-rise buildings. The study proposes a quality assurance program of high-rise buildings by incorporating the improvements needed in the present quality assurance programs. Guidelines and measures from international and industry standards that were found to be deficient in the present quality assurance programs were adopted. The proposed quality assurance program will guide contractors in assuring construction quality and in meeting the needs and satisfaction of the owner.
