Abstract/Summary

This paper discusses the development of a five gallon washer with steam sterilization catered for local water refilling stations. It uses a combination of mechanical and electronic components which execute the overall cleaning and sterilization process. The bottle is rinsed at the interior and exterior with the means of pressurized water. The interior is then sterilized using pressurized steam. The steam is regulated at the temperature and pressure necessary to sanitize the bottle. The objectives is to provide consistent and reliable method of cleaning which adheres to government standards. In addition, the machine must fit the requirements of local refilling stations in terms of cost and size constraints. It aims to raise the quality of service offered by water refilling stations.
